    Annie Zean Dunbar

Annie Zean Dunbar (Zean), MSW, ABD, is in the final stage of her doctoral studies and is an Adjunct Instructor at the University of Denver Graduate School of Social Work. Zean has worked as a research consultant and program facilitator in university settings and multiple private companies. Zean has conducted mixed-methods research on healthcare administration, education, refugee resettlement within the fields of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion and Forced Migration Studies. She is especially interested and currently conducting research on approaches that can be implemented by social service providers with migration experience, in providing welcoming support to newcomer refugees and immigrants in the United States. The project aims to elucidate how (if at all) personal experiences of integration may provide more robust assistance to newcomer immigrants, accounting for “taken for granted” normative assumptions about the host country. She is the Social Media Lead of the Emerging Scholars and Practitioners on Migration Issues (ESPMI) Network, a global network of junior scholars, practitioners, artists, and activists.
